Husk

This is day 2 for us in Charleston. The foodie highlight was our leisurely two hour lunch at Husk which I quickly get into in this posting. We took a lovely carriage ride after lunch. (that posting will follow this one.)

A few pics before lunch:

Scott Babe could have spent hours looking at these vintage posters
 at the Julia Santen Gallery.

I was quite intrigued that Husk's bar was this building next door. Stay tuned for our bar visit later...

This is when Scott is really not feeling well. (head cold)

Husk takes pride in using fresh, local sources for their ingredients.

Cool table setting, don't you think?

The fresh baked bread was so delicious. As well as my Carriage Tour Punch!

We tried in-season staples off of the menu: Heirloom Tomatoes from Greg Johnsman with TX Olive Oil, Smoked Sea Salt and Black Pepper. On the right: A Salad of Bibb Lettuces, Marinated Heirloom Tomatoes, Shaved Radish, Cucumber, Blue Cheese Buttermilk

Delish: SC Shrimp and Grits with Tomato Braised Peppers and Onions, Surry Sausage (grits hiding)

Scott Babe's FAVORITE meal in Charleston.
Slow Smoked Pork BBQ with Joseph Fields' Carrot and Cabbage Slaw, Fried Potato Wedges

  1. So many good choices in that city to eat at...it makes my head spin, and my tummy gurgle.
