June 10-16, 2018 - Club Med Turkoise

I would imagine this is our last trip to Club Med Turkoise (on the island of Providenciales of Turks and Caicos).  I'm writing this blog posting eight months after our vacation and four months after learning that, Marie Kuhnla, age 61, was murdered on this property. This was my 6th visit (our 5th as a couple) to this particular resort. We love it for the clear turquoise ocean and for all that Club Med offers.

After learning of the murder, I was waking up in the middle of the night, for a week, thinking of this poor woman. My heart goes out to her family and friends, really.

The murder case remains unsolved.

From all of the reading I have done on the murder, which was too much, my gut says this is a cover up to protect the island's tourist industry and Club Med's reputation. The husband of the victim feels the same way.

There were major remodels at the resort including the pool after Hurricane Irma and Maria.

I ate their white chocolate bread every morning. (Along with eggs, fruit, etc... from their buffet.)

On day two, the resort ran out of rosé. Supplier didn't deliver it. (dive bar next door was out of stock, too.) This was a big deal to me. It's what I drink during lunch & dinners. Pictured above is Arnie, whom I met during my first Club Med back in 2003. It's always nice to see him again. He found one last bottle for us because he knew my frustration! Such a nice guy.

 There was no ice cream until the last evening of our trip. I do realize that I'm complaining a lot about this vacation. Another reason not to return to this one. (I do love their Bahamas location)
