Amadeus' Bride suite at The Roxbury Motel - October 19-21, 2018

I'm writing this in April -- 6 months after we this weekend getaway! I thought, let me finish this one before we visit the Catskills again in July! :) This was our second visit to The Roxbury. The first was Summer of 2017, when we stayed in Maryann’s Coconut Cream Pie room.  I LOVE the themed rooms and had my eye on Amadeus's Bride suite for awhile.

Friday, October 19th:
We stopped for lunch at the busy-busy Mountain Brauhaus before check-in. It was just good. I'm glad we tried it, but I'm spoiled with an Austrian restaurant near me at work for out of this world wienerschitzel. I will say this though, the table bread at the Brauhaus was top notch along with their Glühwein.
Up the road from Brauhaus was a scenic view of the Shawangunk Mountains Region.

I had Scott babe pull over on Clove Valley Road in High Falls so I could snap this pic. Later, I learned what this was by some googling! -- Vintage California Redwood Driftwood gathered by 72 year old, Jim Dowd. More on him, click here.

Our home for the next two nights.

Secret little tribute to Constanze in bathroom.

Binnekill Tavern:
Apple Oat Crumble with walnut vanilla ice cream
We had dinner at Binnekill Tavern in Margaretville. It was just OK. I would have preferred the previous owners, Walter & Jackie Keller - Swiss-American. They had to sell the business because they were into their 80s! I read that they used to have Alpine fare on the menu.

Saturday, Oct. 20th:

Brunch at Cassie's:
2 min walk from The Roxbury :)
YUM! -- Timbuktu - Bacon, tomatoes, smothered onions, potatoes, cheddar cheese, & topped with fried eggs

After lunch we checked out Stratton Falls, 2 miles south of The Roxbury Motel. They are currently expanding their kitschy lodging. Click here!

Sunday, Oct. 21st:

Brunch at Sweet Sue's in Phoenicia:
This was recommended by girlfriend Eva. It was yummy!
Wait was well over an hour; We sat at the counter! :)
So good!
A couple of pics of Charlie and Ginger that Mrs. Robinson took while kitty sitting!

Highland Mills:
We stopped to see Marcia's lovely new town-home on the way back to Montclair.
 Reggie also known as Weej!

The End!
