I chose The Standard hotel in the East Village because we enjoyed The Standard at The High Line five years ago and most of the bachelor weekend activities were in the East Village!
Friday, June 28th:
View from shower
The Standard's Garden for a refresher and bite:
Fancy punch!
Middle Collegiate Church on 2nd Avenue
Time for a beer before the group dinner.
If you have been following my blog, you know that this is my favorite soup! Notice it's spelled the German way and not the way I am used to in Austria: Frittatensuppe Click here to see the soup from a past posting.
After dinner:
Saturday, June 29th:
Brunch at Narcissa (at our hotel) before we headed to the spa to meet with the others:
Premiere 57 Spa:
Scott Babe
Miriam
Michael and Lee
Back at our hotel:
The only reason I got the above photos from our hotel's website is because we simply stayed in the elevator instead of getting off at our floor. The rooftop floor had normally been off limits, but because there was a World Pride event going on (sponsored by https://itgetsbetter.org/), we were able to sneak in. I got my shots in seconds and then we went back to our room to get ready for dinner.
McSorley's:
I said to the bartender “Jameson & Ginger” and he said "no"!
I thought that’s odd. Ok ... “a pint of Guinness” He said, "no" again! Then he said "pale or dark.".
Ahhhh ok! 😂
Alan Cumming's club - Club Cumming:
We had planned on the 4 pm Tea Dance, but it was cancelled because it was Gay Pride Weekend. When Scott and I walked in, I thought, "OMG!" It was packed! I squeezed us to the bar and we had spots to stand! I wasn't gonna move! LOL.
Michael's video of me above. :)
Michael and Melissa
I knew immediately who the artist was because I follow Alan's partner, Grant Shaffer, on Instagram! In fact, I ordered 2 prints from him. I just need to get them framed!
Michael & Miriam above. :)
This was my favorite part of the weekend. The love in the air was immeasurable.
Dinner at Lil' Frankie's:
Sunday, June 30th
Breakfast at the hotel before we checkout:
The End! Stay tuned for the big wedding in P-town!
